If during your inspections you identify any potential leaks in the old sealant it will need to be resealed. If you coat every seam you can prevent future leaks as well. Spread more of the roof patching tar on top of the tape covering it completely. A leak in any of these rv roof materials can be repaired using flex seal. Spread your roof repair tar all over the area to be patched. When replacing roof membrane remove the screws and edge metal strip termination bar. Then lay some fiberglass screen over the hole.

Again the important thing while on the road is to stop the leak and prevent further water damage. Flex seal is an excellent product for that purpose. It s not that difficult to do. This creates gaps in the corners which allow moisture to get inside.

Canvas roofs will leak from the seams or from holes in the canvas. Again be sure to follow all instructions carefully and only use this or similar manufacturer accepted repair materials on your rv s rubber roof.
